3.Promoting Environmental health and Climate Change Adaptation in communities

AHC advocates for a one-health strategy, acknowledging the link between human and environmental wellbeing. This is from the fact that communities that are healthier and equipped with knowledge and robust support systems can better care for their environments, oversee their natural resources, and safeguard biodiversity. Our environment conservation efforts are centered on communities indigenous understanding of their environment in reinforcing a cycle of wellbeing and environmental care. Rural populations in South Sudan are dependent on natural resources for their livelihood, flourish with enhanced management of shared resources. We collaborate with other partners to implement comprehensive, community-focused approaches for sustainable management of natural resources. Our efforts encompass activities such as forest restoration, establishment of tree nurseries, creation of kitchen gardens, climate-smart agricultural practices, green technologies like cookstoves and solar energy, and strengthening Natural Resource Management Committees. At the same time, we tackle the issues of excessive resource use, food insecurity, and climate adaptation.
